Create and edit tests
Add test cases, edit actions and expectations, and approve tests you have reviewed.
Use the Tests view to adjust generated tests or add a focused check for a workflow you care about. Keep each case specific enough that a failure tells you what behavior changed.
Create a suite
- Open Tests and choose New suite from the actions menu.
- Enter a name and an optional description.
- Add a page URL if the suite should start from a particular page.
- Select Create suite.
Choose an existing suite instead if the new case belongs to a workflow you already test.
Add a test case
- Select the suite and choose Add Test Case.
- Give the case a name describing the behavior you want to check.
- Select an action, its target, and any required value.
- Use Add step to build the action sequence and expected outcome.
- Select Save test case.
- Run the case and inspect its evidence.
For supported web cases, Describe in plain English can propose steps. Supply a page URL when the suite has none, select Generate, and review the resulting steps before saving. Keep account secrets in App access.
Edit a step
Expand the case and select Edit step. Review the action, target, and value before saving. Mobile steps expose the appropriate on-screen target and expected outcome fields.
After editing, rerun the affected case. Changing a target or expectation should reflect the app's intended behavior, rather than merely removing a failure.
Mark reviewed cases
Cases have pending, approved, and rejected review states. Approve a case once you trust its actions and expectations. The suite's Approve pending action marks the pending cases together, so review them before using it.
Approval helps failure triage distinguish a regression in a trusted check from a new failure in an unreviewed check. Case review status is separate from a run's Needs review outcome.
Organize recurring checks
Use suite tags such as smoke or critical to target scheduled groups. A schedule that selects a tag matches suite tags; a tag attached only to a case does not select its suite.
Use Disable to retain a case while excluding it from normal execution. Re-enable it once its setup or expectations have been corrected.
